{"id":77,"date":"2007-03-26T17:58:09","date_gmt":"2007-03-27T00:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/serena\/2007\/03\/26\/truth\/"},"modified":"2007-03-26T17:58:09","modified_gmt":"2007-03-27T00:58:09","slug":"truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/serena\/2007\/03\/26\/truth\/","title":{"rendered":"Truth?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Normally I&#8217;d leap headlong into a philosophical debate, but I&#8217;m with <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/lscot7ow\/2007\/03\/26\/all-this-talk-about-truth-makes-my-head-hurt\/\">Leighton<\/a> on this one. I feel the same way about our debate over &#8220;truth&#8221; as I do about &#8220;good vs. I like it&#8221;. I personally think truth is important, but I&#8217;m not going to demand that everyone attach the same value, or even view it the same way. I think one of the things that makes life so interesting is the vast array of varying opinions on nearly every topic imaginable.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like to remind you that the point of a philosophical debate, whether stated or not, is to explore ideas rather than to reach a conclusion. If questions like this COULD be answered, then nobody would be interested anymore. So I&#8217;m perfectly content to just sit back and listen to everything. Perhaps someone will say something that will make me think in a slightly different way, or make a refreshingly unique point. But as for truth, why does it matter? So I&#8217;ll just be sitting here, waiting for someone to convince me to care about this a little more.
