{"id":69,"date":"2008-08-29T11:13:25","date_gmt":"2008-08-29T15:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/nsftmfx\/?p=69"},"modified":"2023-08-27T06:01:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-27T10:01:48","slug":"psalms-8810","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/nsftmfx\/2008\/08\/29\/psalms-8810\/","title":{"rendered":"Psalms 88:10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Will You perform wonders for the dead?<br \/>\nWill the departed spirits rise <\/em><em>and praise You?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This space has been vacant, has been temporarily &amp; unjustly abandoned, &amp; for this I apologize.\u00c2\u00a0 BUT!\u00c2\u00a0 I offer insubstantial reasoning &amp; lame excuses.\u00c2\u00a0 I spent some time in Arizona after my job ended, then spent some time packing for school, then came to school.\u00c2\u00a0 So here I&#8217;ve been, for a week now, &amp; that&#8217;s where the excuses stop because I have none.\u00c2\u00a0 I suppose I have been readjusting, moving in, etc., &amp; now that I have moved into a real live house, things feel slower, more homey, more comfortable.\u00c2\u00a0 Perhaps the best way to write is to make yourself as uncomfortable as possible (could this be why I wrote so much over the summer?\u00c2\u00a0 Egads, I bet!).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I have a small handful of ideas brewing for posts, but for now I can only offer music &#8212; because, after all, what better way is there to dip into my brain &amp; take a spoonful than to see what I&#8217;ve been listening to on repeat?\u00c2\u00a0 This first one is an old classic, covered by a group of the most compelling musicians on the scene today.\u00c2\u00a0 Watch as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gillian_Welch\">Gillian Welch<\/a>, everybody&#8217;s favorite faux-mountain-mama, invites the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Old_Crow_Medicine_Show\">Old Crow Medicine Show<\/a> boys onstage for a heart-rendering rendition of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Weight\">The Weight<\/a>&#8220;\u00c2\u00a0 If you aren&#8217;t crying by the fiddle solo before the 4th verse, I don&#8217;t know you.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Weight - Gillian Welch &amp; Old Crow Medicine Show\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zXf-SuBbJa0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&amp; also, to a lesser extent, these boys really have sparked something special.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s Americana like only young blood can do it, &amp; a raw, impromptu performance to showcase the movement &amp; style of it all.\u00c2\u00a0 This has been my jam for perhaps the past 5 or 6 weeks now, turn up that volume &amp; let it flow out.\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Felice_brothers\">The Felice Brothers<\/a> &#8212; Her Eyes Dart Round (easy to play yourself, too!\u00c2\u00a0 Just pick up the guitar, strum it out, croon to your maiden!).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Felice Brothers - Her Eyes Dart Round (Cornbury 2007)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-BZQ6iuJ2kM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Okay.\u00c2\u00a0 So.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be back soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will You perform wonders for the dead?
