Now, however, I have seen the light.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Calibri\">While watching the movie screening the only connection I saw was the oh-so-wonderful main-character-gets-beaten-within-an-inch-of-his-life-and-then-escapes-the-two-lackeys scene. I am actually convinced that every movie I see now needs to have a scene just like that in it, complete with a Jeff of sorts. I also saw that both our Samurai and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ed\u00e2\u20ac\u009d were relatively of the same stalk (see previous blog) but I never really thought to look much closer.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Calibri\">But thanks to today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s class and the list of similarities between the two, I can now begin to see more and more of <em>The Glass Key <\/em>in <em>Yojimbo.<\/em> Having noted that, I have to tip my hat to <span>Kurosawa for his ingenious take on the book. I think he did it quite classily. It isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t blatant or obvious to the casual viewer (which I was, apparently, during the screening), but if you take a closer look, you do begin to see the differences.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To be perfectly honest: before the last two days of class, I never really saw much of a similarity between The Glass Key and Yojimbo.
