{"id":16,"date":"2007-04-04T08:43:45","date_gmt":"2007-04-04T15:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/lepinkprincess\/2007\/04\/04\/turn-it-up-to-11\/"},"modified":"2007-04-04T08:43:45","modified_gmt":"2007-04-04T15:43:45","slug":"turn-it-up-to-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/lepinkprincess\/2007\/04\/04\/turn-it-up-to-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Turn it up to 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In class on Monday I was surprised to find that there was so much dislike of FCAOOC.\u00c2\u00a0 But I guess what perplexed me most was the thought that people did not think it was on par with the other Morris films we&#8217;ve viewed.\u00c2\u00a0 I thought that it was not only the best in terms of liking it but I also in terms of it being good.\u00c2\u00a0 Not that the others weren&#8217;t good, I simply thought that this film was the pinnacle example of Morris&#8217; extreme capabilities.\u00c2\u00a0 I was thoroughly impressed with the huge amount of material that he covered and yet still managed to bring it all together.\u00c2\u00a0 It did not seem forced to me because although the interviews were staged, it seemed as if Morris just set up the camera and let these men go off on their own tangents.\u00c2\u00a0 Sure, the editing was brilliant in that it served to highlight the connections and make them accessible and at times obvious.\u00c2\u00a0 However, the raw material &#8211; I feel &#8211; was completely genuine.\u00c2\u00a0 These men are obsessed.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s great!
