I must say I was thoroughly disappointed with the movie version of\u00c2\u00a0 The Glass Key.<\/u>\u00c2\u00a0 I felt that the changes of the main characters name was totally pointless.\u00c2\u00a0 Changing “Ned” to “Ed” was close but when we first meet the\u00c2\u00a0“Shad O’Rory” it took me a minute to realize it was him because they changed it to “Nick Vonner” forgive my spelling.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also instead of having Ned and Janet working together to solve the murder, it’s just Ned and there’s no real reporting.\u00c2\u00a0 Despain is completely\u00c2\u00a0is not mentioned\u00c2\u00a0in\u00c2\u00a0the movie, and\u00c2\u00a0Ned doesn’t have his spy, Jack, to help him.\u00c2\u00a0 I think there were a lot of main components that shouldn’t have been taken out.\u00c2\u00a0 the movie wasn’t even long, so I\u00c2\u00a0don’t think time would have really been a problem.\u00c2\u00a0 The ending also was bad, the two lovebirds just run off happily together with Paul’s blessing.\u00c2\u00a0 In the book\u00c2\u00a0 can’t even tell if Ned even likes Janet Henry, and Paul leaves miserable at the end mumbling incoherent words out the door.\u00c2\u00a0 Not to mention that in the book Madvig and Henry were never engaged.\u00c2\u00a0 That was something that was unnecessary.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

sure the movie ended up being fairly amusing, but I just don’t think it held up to the book well enough.<\/p>\n
