{"id":22,"date":"2007-02-20T22:28:16","date_gmt":"2007-02-21T03:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/carmenc\/2007\/02\/20\/where-oh-where-will-my-blog-show-up-and-birth-order\/"},"modified":"2007-02-21T21:23:37","modified_gmt":"2007-02-22T02:23:37","slug":"where-oh-where-will-my-blog-show-up-and-birth-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.elsweb.org\/carmenc\/2007\/02\/20\/where-oh-where-will-my-blog-show-up-and-birth-order\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Where oh Where Will My Blog Show Up and Birth Order&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That&#8217;s the million dollar question.\u00c2\u00a0 At this point I&#8217;m so completely miffed with where my\u00c2\u00a0the whole blogging process\u00c2\u00a0that I could scream.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m the second of four.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The order goes: girl, girl, boy, girl.\u00c2\u00a0 Ironically enough, my older sister&#8217;s name is Beth and she&#8217;s nothing like LW&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0Beth.\u00c2\u00a0 She has the tendency to be condescending and patronizing.\u00c2\u00a0 Though, she does this\u00c2\u00a0less as we all get older.\u00c2\u00a0 Anyway, she&#8217;s a smart person and always got good grades in school.\u00c2\u00a0 Mr. Ecklehoffer thought she was a genius.\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe she was.\u00c2\u00a0 He used to call me Beth which\u00c2\u00a0drove me crazy.\u00c2\u00a0 Names are very important and\u00c2\u00a0when someone gets your name wrong it negates your identity.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Just spelling it wrong doesn&#8217;t count.\u00c2\u00a0 Afterall,\u00c2\u00a0who can calculate the infintesimal variations on &#8220;Christie?&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Though I digress.\u00c2\u00a0 Birth order does matter.\u00c2\u00a0 The oldest child sets the stage for all the rest to\u00c2\u00a0come.\u00c2\u00a0 If he\/she walks at 8 months then, the\u00c2\u00a0others should do the same.\u00c2\u00a0 How about this one, &#8220;Your sister Beth eats fried chicken.\u00c2\u00a0 Why won&#8217;t you eat it?&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 My dad must have hated having to stop at McDonald&#8217;s to get me a hamburger\u00c2\u00a0everytime they got a bucket of chicken.\u00c2\u00a0 If he forgot to stop I sulked and cried until he eventually went back out and got a hamburger.\u00c2\u00a0It\u00c2\u00a0must have been tiring to have to go back again\u00c2\u00a0after working all day, but he did it because he loved me.\u00c2\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t matter that I was the second born.\u00c2\u00a0 He loved me for me, which believe me isn&#8217;t easy.\u00c2\u00a0 My dad used to say he didn&#8217;t know why he loved me so\u00c2\u00a0much because I was such a\u00c2\u00a0pain.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By the time the third, fourth and fifth kids come along, parents are just physically and mentally worn out.\u00c2\u00a0 Their bodies can&#8217;t take anymore mileage and their brains have shut down.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;ll do whatever the kid wants.\u00c2\u00a0 By this time, expectations are lower and wallets are fatter.\u00c2\u00a0 Also, child-rearing has softened them considerably as they are more tolerant of imperfections.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Additionally, they no longer expect that &#8220;Little Johnny&#8221;
