Gone but Not Forgotten

I know I am a little late with this but I finally watched Gates of Heaven and I loved it.  This is definitely my favorite of Morris’s film.  All I could think after seeing it was WOW!  The family’s statements about life and death are so profound and just really resonated with me.  I tried to figure out who had the best grip on the matter but I feel like all three (Cal, Danny, and Phillip) had very interesting things to say.  This really hit home for me right now because over the weekend one of my good friends died in a car accident.  I was so moved by this film and at times became emotional over what the people were saying.  It is important to get that closure when mourning a loved one (whether it is a human or an animal) in order for those that remain to move on with life.
